It’s been a hot one!
This summer has been a real scorcher (95 degrees in Portland in August, are you kidding me?!), and there’s no better way to cool down during the day than a delicious smoothie! (or an ice cold sour beer. or an ice cold glass of sauvignon blanc. but some people are healthy so…this one’s for you, yogis/fitness folks/swimmers/runners/all the things I’m not, etc, etc.) The great thing about smoothies is that they’re super customizable, so feel free to change this recipe around to meet your individual dietary needs. Add, subtract, reduce, or increase any of these ingredients for a smoothie that’s as unique as you are!
The addition of our new water soluble Acqua tincture adds a boost of CBD, without affecting the flavor or consistency of the smoothie. If you’d like to know more about what CBD is, how it works, and what it can do for you, check out our other blog post here.
1 cup sliced watermelon
2 cups diced strawberries
1 cup raspberries
2 tbsp. hemp seeds or chia seeds
1 cup mint leaves
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 lowfat yogurt
2 tbsp. honey
1ml (30mg) Canapa Acqua
Chop it all up, toss in a blender, and enjoy!
Mint leaves have a tendency to not want to blend well, and can occasionally show up totally unblended in the middle of your smoothie! To avoid this, stick the mint leaves into the freezer for an hour or so before blending. This will help them blend better, and fully incorporate into the smoothie, leaving nothing behind but the refreshingly cool taste.
While we don’t recommend soaking hemp seeds, or turning them into pudding, chia seeds are the ideal choice for adding some extra sweetness to this treat! To make chia seed pudding with the above listed amount, take the 2tbsp. of chia seeds, and mix them into a bowl of 1/2 cup of your chosen liquid (water, almond milk, coconut milk), sweeten with 2 tbsp. honey, stir, then soak for two hours! Once done, simply add the pudding into the smoothie.
